A couple impossible things before breakfast

I’ve been swimming at the Uptown Y to keep in shape while not biking. This morning the guy in the lane next to me introduced himself and started chatting. It turns out he’s running for US Senate. He’d just gone through a hectic Labor Day weekend, and had offered a fulltime job to his ostensible campaign manager who ended up turning him down because he didn’t pay enough.

So then he offered me the position. Crazy.

I told him I’d rather work on my bike routing website. But if I wanted to get into politics, this would be a great opportunity. Except that my closest friend in Minneapolis used to work for Al Franken, one of his opponents.

I’ve got nothing

So my bike was stolen out of Jim and Becca’s garage. I knew it wasn’t locked, but figured if Jim kept his bike there, it should be ok. I didn’t notice Jim’s bike was locked to itself. Despite the title of this post, they only took the bike, not the suitcase. Most of my stuff was in the house anyway.

My Bike Friday is close to unique. How likely does that make it that it will be recovered? More. How much more? Unclear.

Also, in order to add insult to injury, they left a Huffy.
