Mountain View

Transportation woes. Biking is so much less frustrating than mass
transit because there is no waiting. I hate waiting, especially when
I’m running late. When you’re biking you can pedal harder, using the
adrenaline. When you’re waiting, you can only stew, fidget or talk to
total strangers. I did all three. I was pleasantly surprised by the
pleasant small talk of other San Franciscans, even if one of them did
call me sweetie as he boarded his bus.

I ended up having to run for the train back to SF. It was pulling into
the station as Brian drove into the parking lot. Exciting.

I had the full Silicon Valley experience. I sat in a coffeehouse and
talked to someone about starting a company and I got a tour of
Google. Then I ran into Hardpack in the Google cafeteria, even though
he’s working for them in Pittsburgh.

Violet Julia Tivol is pretty cute, though looks nothing like Brian or
Marcy. Mostly fun to play with. Not too fidgety or screamy.
